As a researcher I am still encouraging public school districts, and community leaders to get involved. Gangs are widespread and do not just occur in impoverished neighborhoods. Gangs thrive in affluent communities! Where there is substance abuse there is gangs!
As a non paid community volunteer and researcher I applaud the efforts of the local and national law enforcement community. They have done a great job considering the lack of resources and denial of a gang problem they are up against with politicans and school districts. Politicians continue to politely ignore the gang issue in most communities.School Districts do very little to prevent the impact of gangs in public schools.Thank You To All Parents Who Are Concerned.
